Collectible art and objects seem to always be under siege. From light, humidity, and temperature, to our own carelessness and clumsiness, some of our most valued possessions face threats of damage each day. Hopefully, your art insurance policy covers the damage in the event of a loss; however, many of the sources of danger to our collections are controllable, and others are at least predictable. Conservators are usually called in when something has gone wrong to treat the effects of these threats, yet they are also a valuable resource for preventative care. ​
