Marek Zabriskie to preach on ‘Day 1’

The Rev. Marek Zabriskie, rector of Christ Church Episcopal in Greenwich, Conn., is the featured preacher March 28, Palm Sunday, and April 4, Easter Sunday, on “Day 1” with host Peter Wallace, the nationally broadcast ecumenical radio program also accessible online at Day1.org and by podcast.

“The Donkey Detail,” his sermon for Pal Sunday, is based on Mark 11:1-11, the account of Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem. He says, “I have learned that God assigns us little tasks in life that make a crucial difference, like fetching donkeys.”

“God Says, ‘Nevertheless’” his Easter sermon is drawn from the account of the visit of Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome to the tomb found in Mark 16:1-8. “The resurrection is an outrageous assault on our shrunken worldviews,” he says. It’s a full frontal attack on our Good Friday outlook when God dreams for us to have an Easter reality.”
