The Greenwich Conservation Committee is set to host a panel regarding the importance of water protection and the water system as a whole

The event will be moderated by Elizabeth Dempsey, and will be held on Wednesday, March 17, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Panelists will include:

John Mullaney, USGS

Patricia Sesto, Director of Environmental Affair, Town of Greenwich

Jeff Ulrich, Vice President of Supply Operations and Sustainability, Aquarion Water Company.

There is an increasing awareness that freshwater resources in Greenwich are limited and need to be protected both in terms of quantity and quality. Severe droughts and water overdraw affect not only the water users, but also the decision-makers. “Water is everybody’s business.” Our group of panelists will explain the important connections between surface water and groundwater and how the actions of one property owner may have lasting consequences on the entire water system.
