At Cos Cob Veteran’s Memorial Park, men and women are being remembered and celebrated for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the United States in honor of Veteran’s Day.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cos Cob Post 10112 feels it’s important for people to celebrate and honor Veterans everyday, not just on Veteran’s Day.
“The country should pray for our veterans who have not only served, but who are serving as well,” said Bill Cameron.
Bill Cameron of Post 10112 says veterans of past wars are growing to be in their 80s right now.
“We want to honor these men while we still can,” said Cameron.
And now, veterans need the public’s help. Cos Cob School will be holding a clothing drive on November 11 for the patients in the VA Hospital in New Haven.
“They are looking for warm socks, underwear. Things that can be worn in large sizes over medical equipment,” said Cameron.
The clothing drive will begin at 9:00. Be sure to stick with the Sentinel for continuing Veteran’s day coverage.
