On Sept. 14, River House kicked off a week-long celebration of National Adult Day Services with a visit from Peter Tesei, the First Selectman of Greenwich. Tesei proclaimed the week of Sept. 13, National Adult Day Services Week.
River House supports this year’s theme, “Adult Day Services: Living Well Into the Future” by providing options to families confronted with age-related illnesses. Seniors who attend the day program not only benefit from the care they receive but also from socialization with their peers. Families and caregivers receive respite and benefit from support and resources found at the Caregiver Information Center.
River House senior Florence Mason commented, “I am enjoying this week very much- especially the visit from Peter Tesei- that was great! I love everything about River House and the services they provide. When you come here, you feel like you’re with family!”
The celebration of National Adult Day Services Week will continue at River House with a visit from the Animal Embassy, a performance by Deuces Wild and the Annual Family Barbeque.
