Sacred Heart Volleyball Beats Holy Child, 3-1

The Convent of the Sacred Heart volleyball team had much success against School of the Holy Child and came away with the 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19) victory Monday afternoon.

For the Tigers, Maria Njie-Mitchell led the way with nine kills, two blocks, two digs and four aces. Not to be outone was Kenna Whelan, who added 11 kills, 13 digs, two assists and one ace. Natalia Pazos added 30 assists, four kills and one ace, while Ellie McKenney took home seven kills, nine digs and four aces.

Brooke Wilkens added 11 digs, four kills and one ace and Laura Holland rounded out the scoring with eight kills and one assist.

With the win, Sacred Heart upped its overall record to 5-2 on the season and will be back in action Wednesday when they host Hopkins School at 4 p.m.
