Greenwich Hospital was honored for the second year in a row with four Women’s Choice Awards. Greenwich was named as best in Obstetrics, Cancer Care and Best Breast Center as well as being named as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience.
The Women’s Choice Award is the only distinction that identifies the nation’s best health care institutions based on robust criteria that considers patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and women’s highest preferences when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience.
“Service excellence and patient satisfaction are the cornerstones on which we’ve built Greenwich Hospital’s culture,” said Norman G. Roth, president, Greenwich Hospital. “This award is yet another affirmation of our commitment to ensure that each and every one of our patients has the best experience possible while in our care.”
Among the group of hospitals considered, Greenwich Hospital earned the America’s Best Hospital for Cancer Care award because they have met the comprehensive cancer care standards of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, as well as achieving excellence in clinical performance with regard to cancer care measures and for their high recommendation rate.
Greenwich Hospital has also earned the award for America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience. The process begins with scores derived by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for each hospital in the HCAHPS database. The score takes a subset of the questions HCAHPS uses, that research and experience shows are more important to women than to men. Weight is applied to each of those questions
to adjust for relative importance and arrive at a numerical score.
By carrying the Women’s Choice Award seal in these areas, Greenwich Hospital has joined an elite network of hospitals committed to a global mission empowering women to make smart healthcare choices.
