On Oct. 3 and 4, the Greenwich Symphony will present the opening concerts of its new season. Three of the orchestra’s principal players, Krystof Witek, Daniel Miller, and Andrew Gordon, will perform as soloists Beethoven’s magnificent Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C major, better known as the Triple Concerto. Also, in recognition of Greenwich’s 375th anniversary, the newly-formed Greenwich Anniversary Chorale will sing a series of hymns for chorus and brass from the 1640 “Bay Psalm Book,” led by Jon Hunt, Choral Director. Other works on the program are Frescobaldi’s “Toccata,” and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4.
The concerts will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. at Greenwich High School. Assuming timely completion of construction and permitting, the performance will be in the school’s new auditorium. A free, pre-concert lecture will be given one hour before each performance.
Tickets are $35 for adults, $10 for students. For tickets and information call 203-869-2664 or visit Greenwichsym.org
