In a thriller at the Brunswick School natatorium, the Greenwich High School water polo team upended the Bruins in its cross-town rivalry game 12-11 in triple overtime earlier today.

The Bruins got out to a quick lead, taking a 7-3 lead in the second quarter. However Big Red came storming back and trailed 10-9 with 1:10 left in regulation. With 54 seconds left, Greenwich knotted the game at 10-10, as Dan Sabia found the back of the net.

The Cardinals were led by Nick Hyde, who finished with a game-high six goals, including the game-winning goal in triple overtime. Kevin Downey added two goals for Greenwich, while Mackenzie Baxter, Andrew Triscari, Dan Sabia and Cameron Liflander each added one goal.

For Brunswick, Will Marvin finished with five goals, while Simon Derby added two goals. The team of Nico Apostolides, Thacher Scannell, Jack Muccia and Pat Stefano each netted one goal.
