Registration for Greenwich’s annual mud run, hosted by Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich closes on Friday, September 25, 2015. The event is almost sold out. Residents in the tri-state area are encouraged to sign up before it’s too late. Interested participants can sign up online: http://bgcg.org/muddyup2015/.
On Sunday, October 4, 2015, over 1,000 adults, teens, kids and families, ages 6 and older, will get MUDDY or root for muddy runners and walkers, with Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and Friso vanReesema, BGCG Board member and event chair, for its fourth annual “Muddy Up 5k” Run and Family Fun Walk” at Camp Simmons on 744 Lake Avenue in Greenwich, CT.
Rain or shine, the weather will be perfect for participants to forge through rugged trails on 77 acres of pure wilderness. Walkers and runners will traipse through 18 unique and man-made obstacles before traversing Camp Simmons’ legendary lake across the rope bridge, plunge in a gigantic mud pit, and ‘rinse’ with the Greenwich Fire Department.
This event will not be timed, but some groups will receive special recognition for team spirit, biggest fundraiser, muddiest kid and more. Check it out and preview the course video by clicking this link: http://youtu.be/uEsEFyAawK4 and to see photos visit BGCG’s Facebook page.
Registered runners and walkers will enjoy entertainment provided by BGCG member Julia Bibeaut and receive food and refreshments provided by Upper Crust Bagels, Nestle Waters and the Café’ Bon food truck.
