The International School at Dundee (ISD) will host its First Annual Around the World 5K Run and Kids Obstacle Course on Saturday, Sept. 26, starting at 9 a.m. The event, which will be held rain or shine, is open to the public with all proceeds benefitting PTA-sponsored curriculum enhancements. Pre-registration is available at tinyurl.com/isd5k.

The 5K Race starts and ends at ISD, with a gentle course, which winds through residential streets surrounding the school at 55 Florence Road in Riverside. Two water stations will be provided for runners along the course, and all pre-registrants will receive a race t-shirt. Medals will be given to top three finishers in each of six age groups. Registration for the 5K is $20 through Sept. 4 and $25 after Sept. 5. Race day registration is $30 per person.

A fun obstacle course, for kids 13 and under, will be set-up on the ISD playground. Age and grade-level loops will be offered for kids, with obstacles including hurdles, tires, climbing wall, hay bales and more. Kids Obstacle Course registration is $12 through Sept. 4 and $15 after Sept. 5. All kids will receive a finisher’s prize.

“We hope that everyone will come out to support ISD’s First Annual 5k Around the World Fun Run and Kids Obstacle Course!” said Kristin Lisjak, event chair, and PTA co-president. “ISD is a multi-national community, with many countries represented among our student body. This multi-cultural orientation will be reflected in fun ways at the event.”
