The YWCA Greenwich is introducing a new program, YW Floats, using “tsunami fitness boards.” Through a series of exercises, class participants increase stabilization, balance and endurance. YWCA Greenwich is the only fitness facility in Fairfield County to offer this new program.

YW Floats offers a safe and fun workout on the water, designed to grow core and joint stabilization, improve overall fitness levels, prevent injury through better balance, and burn calories. Classes will begin on Monday, April 8, and they are included with YWCA Greenwich memberships. Drop-in fees are also available for non-members. More details can be found at ywcagreenwich.org/YW-Floats.

On Saturday, April 6, YWCA Greenwich will preview YW Floats along with a host of other YWCA fitness programs during a fitness extravaganza they’re calling “Spring into Fitness.” The event is designed to promote healthy living for adults and showcase YWCA Greenwich instructors and classes. The free event is for adults and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can take as many classes as they like, and refreshments will be available to keep everyone hydrated. All members of the Greenwich community and beyond are invited.

The schedule for the day can be found at ywcagreenwich.org/springintofitness. Those who want to try YW Floats should sign up ahead of time at the front desk since space is limited.

To help parents who want to try a few classes, a supervised game room will be available for children four years of age and older. Parents can drop off their children by signing them in and out of the playroom.

For more information about the April 6 event, contact Michelle Pennino, Director of Member Services, at 203-869-6501, ext. 104 or email m.pennino@ywcagreenwich.org
