Starting Feb. 1, toddlers and their caregivers are invited to participate in a new music program at the Bruce Museum. “Museum Musicians” will run from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month through May 2018. The young participants, ages 10 to 24 months, will sing, dance, and play music inspired by the Museum’s exhibitions and collections.
The melodious program will focus on learning through exploration and seeks to nurture creativity, self-expression, and confidence in young children, while also helping caregivers understand how they can use music as a tool to enhance their toddler’s development.
Jackie Jacobs, Director of Music Together of Fairfield County, will lead participants in this fun and interactive music and movement program. Jacobs pursued postgraduate studies in dance education, human movement, voice, early childhood education, and music theory. She believes in the benefit of music education for children and their families and has two children currently pursuing musical careers.
The Museum Musicians program is free with general admission, although space is limited. To secure a spot, see the Visitor Service desk upon arrival at the Museum.
