Andrea Elizabeth Sherborne Roosendahl was born Nov. 17, 1964 in Stanford, California, and passed away on Dec. 21, 2017 in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Andrea graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Economics after successfully competing in the Junior Grand Nationals in dressage. Shortly afterward, she married her husband, a Los Angeles lawyer, and chose to forgo her own law school aspirations in order to raise a family.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, and her two children, Britta, 26, a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall – now a third-year law student at the University of Southern California – and Erik, 22, who graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall and is currently majoring in Computer Science Engineering at Washington University in St Louis. She is also survived by her mother, Veronica Hagin, as well as her two sisters, Christina (“Cricket”) Sherborne-Gretz and Bernice (“Nicci”) Stine.
Andrea was active in and beloved by the Greenwich community. She participated in fundraising events while her son, Erik, attended Brunswick School and she served on the Board of Directors of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club, where she ran the Junior Sailing Program. During the years that her daughter, Britta, sang in the Christ Church choir and she taught Sunday School at Christ Church. During the years that her family lived in California, Andrea was active in fundraising for St. Mathews Parish School in Pacific Palisades.
Andrea was a bright loving light to all who knew her. Visitation hours at Fred D. Knapp Funeral Home were held on Thursday, Dec. 28, and services were held at Christ Church, Greenwich on Dec. 29.
