Greenwich United Way has partnered with Vineyard Vines, located at 145 Greenwich Ave., to host an in-store shopping event. On Sunday, Oct. 1, from 12 to 4 p.m., DJ Mizzy will entertain shoppers while they enjoy cupcakes courtesy of By the Way Bakery. The first 40 shoppers to spend more than $150 will each receive a one-time gift of 20% off at either Meli-Melo or Bistro Versailles during the month of October. “We kicked off our Annual Campaign this month and this event, coupled with our 3rd Annual Brew-Ha-Ha Comedy Night and other strategies, will help get us off to a great start for the year. Events like these, in addition to our mailers, allow us to fulfill our mission to meet critical human service needs in the Greenwich Community. One in every five Greenwich families are in need of these services so watch your mailboxes for the GUW logo! Fundraising events help us fund programs that provide supplemental food, transportation, education and crisis services,” said Greenwich United Way CEO David Rabin.
This event will be the second family-friendly shopping event for Greenwich United Way sponsored by GreenwichMoms. “New this year is a registration incentive. Attendees can enter their information through the Greenwich United Way website for a chance to win a $300 Vineyard Vines gift card,” said Layla Lisiewski, founder at GreenwichMoms. She continued, “Our goal is to direct traffic to the Greenwich United Way website to help raise awareness for the organization’s work in the community. We encourage Greenwich families to attend and show their support by making a purchase or a direct donation to the Greenwich United Way.”
The Greenwich Jr United Way (GJrUW) will participate in the event with a trivia game. This summer, Vineyard Vines created custom polos for the Greenwich Jr United Way to wear while volunteering in the community.
