Where can you learn methods and techniques that can strengthen your memory? MasterMind at River House, the eight-week mind enhancement course, can do just that.
MasterMind at River House starts on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. To better cater to the individual, the class is offered at two levels. The “Well-But Worried” Class, held on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., is specially crafted for those experiencing normal age-related changes to memory. Those with a diagnosis of memory impairment are eligible to enroll in the Brain Training Class which is offered on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., throughout the year. Participants for either class have the option of taking the full eight-week course or registering on a class by class basis.
Since its inception in 2009, MasterMind has incorporated SMART Board Technology into each lesson. To continue evolving with technology trends, iPads, provided by the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation, were recently added in 2015.
Lyndsay DeMatteo, MSG, Director of Therapeutic Recreation at River House and MasterMind Instructor, explains, “Incorporating the use of iPads into the MasterMind curriculum has added a great depth to the class – it gives participants a chance to exercise their minds while learning a great new technological skill.”
Registration is required for each class. Those interested in taking the class can register on a class by class basis for $10/class or for the eight-week course for $70.
River House is located at 125 River Road Ext. in Cos Cob. For more information or to register, please call Lyndsay at 203-622-0079 or visit theRiverHouse.org.
