A Bloc of Writers, Inc., a Greenwich-based writing, editing and tutoring company, sponsors a free lecture on how to write an impressive college application essay. The lecture titled “How to Jump Start Your College Admissions Essays,” will be held at the Greenwich Water Club, on Tuesday, May 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Both students and parents are welcome to attend.

Michele Turk, founder of A Bloc of Writers, will offer advice on how to: tackle the Common Application essay prompts and various supplemental essays; select appropriate topics and themes; organize and focus the essays; find your voice and particular style; avoid common essay mistakes.

The presentation will help high school students get a head start on this essential part of the college application process. It’s also an opportunity for parents to get a handle on what’s in store if they have a child who’s about to apply to college in the fall.

To register, email Michele@ablocofwriters.com or call 203-622-2968.
