2025 Greenwich Resident Satisfaction Survey Results show continued satisfaction

The Town of Greenwich continues to earn high approval from its residents, who are satisfied both with the quality of life in Greenwich and the level of services they receive, ranking Greenwich better than most other municipalities surveyed around the country.

That is the main conclusion from the 2025 Resident Satisfaction Survey which was conducted by Probolsky Research from Oct. 8 to Oct. 26, 2025. The survey found that people overall are satisfied living in Greenwich with public safety and the sense of community earning high marks.

Schools and education ranked highly as top-of-mind issues for Town residents.

“These survey results confirmed what we have always known. The Town of Greenwich is a highly desirable place to live and that residents highly value the services that we are able to offer them,” First Selectman Fred Camillo said. “It also shows the areas we need to focus on to be able to meet resident needs and wishes. It is always valuable to get data like this to know how residents are feeling and what they believe needs to be focused on in the coming years.”

The Greenwich Resident Satisfaction survey is done biennially and was last done in 2023.

This was the second time the Town contracted with Probolsky Research for the survey and the firm was able to obtain a representative sample size of 425 residents for its findings. Data was proportioned and weighted to match the demographics of Greenwich and Probolsky has said that a sample of this size yields a margin of +/- 4.9 percent at a 95 percent level if confidence.

Responses for the survey were collected online and by telephone with participants invited primarily through invitations that were sent out to residents via direct mail as well as email and text. A second sample for the survey was derived from a link that was posted on the Town’s website and yielded 287 responses.

Overall, the results of the 2025 Survey resulted in several key findings:

· A strong majority of residents (89 percent) said they were satisfied with the overall quality of life in the Town of Greenwich, with residents particularly expressing they feel safe living in Town and that they enjoy Greenwich’s sense of community.

· Those surveyed said they remain satisfied with public safety thanks to the Greenwich Police Department, Greenwich Fire Department and Greenwich Emergency Medical Service.

· The average scores show a decline since the previous survey in 2023 but there is still an overall sense of satisfaction with the services the Town provides, the value received for tax dollars and the level of customer service from Town Hall.

· This lead to Probolsky finding there are growth opportunities for the Town particularly in areas like traffic and congestion management, relevant communications, available public health services and website navigation.

When looking at the overall numbers, it is important to take into context the national trends. According to Probolsky Research, they have seen trust for government, at all levels, impacted by the polarized media environment and divisive politics and public policy at the national level. When residents express frustration with their city or town government, the firm’s research has shown that it is often a reflection of broader feelings based on the national narrative, not specific concerns locally.

First Selectman Camillo stressed that the lower figures are something being shown across the country and that Greenwich has only shown a slightly downward trend. The Town continues to perform significantly better than most other municipalities nationally.

“When you have a survey like this, it’s always good to hear about the areas residents are happy with and how we can stay on the right track but some of the most useful data comes in areas where residents feel we need to do better,” First Selectman Camillo said. “As we continue to set priorities through the Town budget and work begins in earnest on the next update in the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development we will continue to listen to our residents about what their priorities are and what they feel needs to be done to make Greenwich an even better place to live.”
