This Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home in Greenwich CT is the last municipal nursing home in Connecticut. Like many Greenwich families, we are grateful for the care given to family members in the last period of their lives. My mother, Marie C. Krumeich, a retired school teacher, lived there until her death when she was no longer able to live at home.
Earlier, my father, a retired podiatrist who used to care for patients at the facility, lived there in the last stage of his life. Friends and family members also benefited from the care of their elderly friends and family. Twice I rehabbed there after knee replacements.
I am proud that my wife, Beth, is a member of the board of directors of “Friends of Nathaniel Witherell”, a charity that raises funds for the home (friendsofnathanielwitherell.org).
