Greenwich Library announces that Greenwich resident and Sageview Capital Co-founder and Partner Scott Stuart will be honored with the 2026 Peterson Business Award at the Library’s annual Peterson Business Award Dinner on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency Hotel. The Peterson Business Award recognizes Scott Stuart’s leadership in business and his longstanding philanthropic commitment to the Greenwich community. The event is co-chaired by Alexandra Codraro, Lawrence Codraro, Jr., and Anne Farrell.

“The Peterson Business Award is one of the most lauded awards in our community for business leaders,” noted Anne Farrell, a co-chair of the event. “We are thrilled to honor Scott Stuart this year for his incredible work in both our Greenwich community and beyond. We invite the public to join us on this momentous occasion and celebrate Scott and support Greenwich Library, which is a jewel of our community.”

The Peterson Business Award Dinner is Greenwich Library’s most prestigious major fundraiser and is vital to maintaining the quality and availability of the Library’s more than 2,200 annual programs and events. Proceeds from the event support a wide range of community offerings at the Library, provided free of charge to the community, including childhood literacy sessions, musical concerts, job search tools, technology training courses and many other essential services.

Stuart is a founding partner of Sageview Capital and serves on its investment and portfolio committees. Prior to founding Sageview Capital, he spent 19 years at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., joining the firm in 1986 and becoming a partner in 1994, with responsibility for the utilities and consumer products industry groups. He also served on KKR’s investment committee from its inception in 2000 until his departure in 2005. Earlier in his career, Stuart worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb Inc.

In addition to his business leadership, Stuart is deeply engaged in philanthropy and nonprofit governance. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Dartmouth College and is chair of the Board of Trustees and Governing Trustees at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In 2021, Stuart and his wife Lisa launched the Lisa & Scott Stuart Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Cancers at Memorial Sloan Kettering, dedicated to revolutionizing cancer treatment for patients ages 15 to 39 and to meet their very specific and often unmet needs.

“Scott Stuart exemplifies the values at the heart of the Peterson Business Award — integrity, leadership and service,” said Joe Williams, director of Greenwich Library. “His professional accomplishments, combined with his meaningful impact on our local community, make him an outstanding honoree and we are thrilled to celebrate him on April 9th.”

Established in 1997 by Greenwich Library and the Peterson Foundation, the Peterson Business Award was created to recognize and honor an individual whose innovative thinking, leadership and sustained record of achievement has had a profound impact on the national and global economy, and whose words and deeds have demonstrated a commitment to intellectual freedom and open access to information.

The award is named in honor of Clementine Lockwood Peterson, whose 1992 bequest of $25 million made possible a new 32,000-square-foot wing at Greenwich Library. Designed by renowned architect Cesar Pelli, the wing houses expanded business and music collections. Mrs. Peterson’s gift was made in memory of her son, Jonathan, and her husband, J. Whitney Peterson. The Peterson Business Award was conceived to celebrate Mrs. Peterson’s extraordinary generosity and to recognize outstanding business leadership.

Past Peterson Business Award honorees include Ray Dalio (2024), Chuck Royce (2022), Cliff Asness (2020), Lawrence R. Ricciardi (2018), Barry Sternlicht (2016), Robert B. Goergen (2014), Robert K. Steel (2012), Peter T. Grauer (2010), Indra Nooyi (2008), Thomas J. Neff (2006), Dr. Henry A. McKinnell Jr. (2004), William B. Harrison Jr. (2002), Sanford I. Weill (2000) and Louis V.
