Volunteers Needed to Help Protect Greenwich Point Dunes

Friends of Greenwich Point is seeking volunteers to help protect the Point’s dunes and vegetation on Saturday, February 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This hands-on conservation effort uses recycled Christmas trees to help stabilize dunes and safeguard plantings around Greenwich Point.

Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate in this important seasonal project, which plays a key role in preserving the natural beauty and environmental health of the Point. Volunteers will meet at the first parking lot upon arrival.

Participants are asked to bring gloves, though gloves will also be available to borrow. Student volunteer hours are available, making this a great opportunity for students to earn service credit while supporting a local environmental cause.

Those planning to volunteer are asked to email info@friendsofgreenwichpoint.org in advance.

Friends of Greenwich Point welcomes everyone to come out, lend a hand, and make a positive impact on this treasured coastal resource.
