Brooklyn Battle Comedy, a Brooklyn New York based live entertainment production company, is set to bring their first pro-wrestling event to Greenwich’s own Arch Street Teen Center on November 30th for an all day pro-wrestling fundraiser event which will feature some of the most popular talents from across the Eastern seaboard, including the current reigning NWA Television Champion Bryan Idol and New Canaan’s own ASE Champion Darius Carter.
Started during the pandemic as an outlet for outsider art, weaving comedy and professional wrestling, Brooklyn Battle Comedy has branched out to their first live event. Company co-founder Benel Germosen says that the initial idea has grown from doing a wrestling-theme comedy show in a Brooklyn Bar to bringing pro-wrestling into communities that have never had pro wrestling before.
“When we started, we thought it would be funny just to have pro-wrestling jokes in between comedian bits. Then the pandemic hit, so we made a film about pro wrestling because we thought it would be funny. Finally, we’re doing a live pro-wrestling show to raise money for Arch Street Teen Center, because we think it would be funny and it’s for a good cause. Other people just watch cat videos on Youtube, but not us.”
The festivities kick off of at 2pm, but some lucky fans will get a chance to meet the stars of Brookyln Battle Comedy: Slamsgiving 2025 before the show in a pre-show meet and greet.
“We’re all about community and giving back. Our hope that having wrestling in Greenwich will be a way to bring the community together and share in a good time. The world is divisive and we as a society have siloed ourselves in our own separate groups, but we believe that pro wrestling can bring people together that you would never expect, so we’re excited to bring that to Arch Street.”
The event promises a full card of matches suitable for wrestling fans of all ages. Tickets are available for purchase online at https://givebutter.com/8QeFDD
