Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones today announced that Ms. Leah Stillman has been appointed PreK-12 arts program coordinator, effective August 18. She is an administrator and educator in the visionary arts with more than 25 years of experience.

At GPS, Ms. Stillman will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest quality for one of the region’s and country’s top visual and performing arts programs. Her leadership will continue to bolster the coordination across all 15 GPS schools, with uniform and equitable implementation to align with district improvement goals. She will be responsible for overseeing the visual, music, and theater arts programs for the district and will report directly to Chief Officer of K-12 Curriculum and Leadership Mr. Marc D’Amico.

“Ms. Leah Stillman’s extensive experience and expertise in the arts, especially with technology, makes her a valuable asset to Greenwich Public Schools,” Dr. Jones said. “Not only has she taught on every level in primary and secondary education, but Ms. Stillman has proven to be a dynamic and visionary arts administrator and leader. Our school district’s strong reputation for encouraging and nurturing art, music, and theater with students in all grades continues to attract the best administrators and educators from around our region.”

Since 2020, Ms. Stillman was the district curricular lead, K-12, and performing arts coordinator, K-12, for Madison Public Schools in New Haven County where she supervised all of the district’s music and theater educators, facilitated student performance opportunities and interdisciplinary arts events, and collaborated with school leaders to align performing arts programming with district goals.

In addition to her administration and leadership positions, Ms. Stillman was a teacher in the arts for almost a decade at New London Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School, Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School, and Arts at the Capitol Theater Magnet School, where her work included developing and implementing music technology and performance.

“Greenwich Public Schools’ vibrant arts community reflects a deep commitment to creativity, expression and student engagement,” Ms. Stillman said. “My goal as the arts coordinator is to support and enhance existing programs while identifying new opportunities for growth, equity, and innovation. I am committed to collaborating with educators, students, and the community to ensure the arts remain a dynamic and integral part of every student’s educational experience.”

Ms. Stillman holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Hofstra University and a master’s in Instructional Technology from the New York Institute of Technology. She also earned her certificate of advanced study in School District Administration from Long Island University (C.W. Post).
