LIVESTRONG® Cancer Survivor Program at the Y!
September 8 @ 1:00 pm - December 4 @ 3:00 pm
Free
Let’s get stronger together! Join us at the YMCA of Greenwich for LIVESTRONG®, a 12-week program designed to support individuals living with, through, or beyond cancer by offering a chance to regain physical health and connect with others on a similar journey. Each session is led by certified fitness instructors trained in cancer survivorship, post-rehabilitation exercise, and supportive cancer care.
The next session begins on Tuesday, September 8, and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM through December 4. There will be no classes the week of Thanksgiving (November 25 and 27).
At the Y, we know how important physical activity can be while recovering from cancer. Research from the Yale Cancer Center and Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Institute shows that people in the LIVESTRONG® program experience an improved quality of life and a significant decrease in cancer-related fatigue.
Anyone at least 18 years of age who is living with or beyond cancer treatment is eligible for the YMCA of Greenwich LIVESTRONG® program. For registration and enrollment details or to learn more, please email wellness@gwymca.org.
