Lions Club Hosts 61st Pancake Breakfast

The Greenwich Lions Club will host its 61st annual Pancake Breakfast in the Greenwich High School Student Center on Saturday, March 16. The event, from 8am to 12pm, marks its second year at this location.

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the event returned last year. Allen O’Farrell, Chair of the Lions Pancake Breakfast, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event. “We are thrilled to hold this community event again, centrally located and easy for the entire town to attend,” he said.

The Pancake Breakfast features all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausages, and various beverages, all prepared by the Lions Club members. This year’s event includes entertainment, a bake sale, door prizes, and free eye screening for young children. A new addition is the Lion’s Club donations to over 30 local non-profits, highlighting the organization’s commitment to community service.

Proceeds from the breakfast support the Greenwich Lion’s Club in its various service projects, which aim to help people in Greenwich and surrounding areas. These projects include fighting blindness, serving youth, disaster aid, environmental care, and supporting seniors and the disabled.

Tickets are available in advance for $8 at the Perrot Library’s adult circulation desk or from any Greenwich Lions Club member. The price at the door is $10, and children five and under do not pay.

The Greenwich Lions Club has served the community for over a century. With the mot to “WE SERVE,” the club is dedicated to humanitarian efforts locally and globally.
