On Monday, December 5th, the Horseneck Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Greenwich Library will host an evening talk with author Missy Wolfe, an avid historical researcher who has spent well over a decade researching and writing about Greenwich history. This popular historian will discuss her new two-volume set, “The Great Ledger Records of the Town of Greenwich (2021).” The event will begin with refreshments at 6:30pm and the presentation will start at 7pm. For those new to Greenwich as well as longtime residents, we welcome all to join us for this exciting talk from a local author with a keen interest in Greenwich history. Registration through the Greenwich Library website will begin on November 7th and the event will be held in the Marx Family Black Box Theater (https://greenwichlibrary.libcal.com/event/9819775)

Missy Wolfe is an established author of two other books on Greenwich history, a study of the life of Greenwich founder Elizabeth Winthrop Feake Hallett, Insubordinate Spirit: A True Story of Life and Loss in Earliest America (2014), won the Washington Irving Medal for Literary Excellence and Hidden History of Colonial Greenwich (2018). In the “The Great Ledger Records of the Town of Greenwich (2021),” Missy worked with the Town Clerk’s office to organize the town’s original handwritten town records, meetings, family relationships, vital records, land transactions, lost place names, original road names records, etc. defining pieces of our town’s beginning. This is a valuable reference for those interested in genealogical or historical facts about our town during the colonial period. We hope all can join us for this fascinating evening talk.
