Margarete O. Gramlich passed away at her home in Brookfield, CT on October 16, 2022, at the age of 84. Margarete started her life in Coburg, West Germany, where she lived through WWll until she met and married a United States soldier Allen S. Gramlich. After the occupation the couple then moved to the United States in 1955. They lived a good life in Greenwich, CT raising 5 children through the years. During this time Margarete held a fulltime job at Putnam Trust Co. for 23 years. She was dedicated and excelled at her job and grew with the company as an integral part of it. Margarete will be most remembered for her love for her children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her love for singing. She had a lovely voice and could always be heard singing around the house. She also had a lifelong love of gardening as well as her love for cats.
Margarete is survived by her brother Ludwig Ochsendorf and 2 sisters Annalise Phillips and Marianne Williamson, 2 daughters Mary L. Pappas (Constantine), Margarete A. Corbin (Perry, Jr.) and 3 sons, Allen S. Jr. (Ellen), David C. (Martie) and Timothy E. (Karen) and 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Margarete will have a private burial service on a future date at the Central Cemetery in Brookfield, CT.
