John J. Gambino, “Babe”, passed away March 29 at age 84.
He was born Aug. 27, 1937 in Port Chester to James and Jennie (nee Branca) Gambino. He was raised in Port Chester where he attended schools and later served his country in the Army. For many years, Babe was the proprietor of Gateway Auto Supply in Greenwich. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Tamarack Country Club where he played in many tournaments and won several.
Babe is the devoted husband of Lucille (nee Mangini). He is the cherished father of James Gambino, Stephanie Gambino and the late Gregory Gambino.
To honor Babe’s life, family and friends gathered on Friday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, Mamaroneck. Funeral Mass was Saturday at St. Gregory the Great RC Church followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery.
