Ms President US announces the the first-ever Ms President US Campaign and Election Event in Greenwich, taking place on Friday, April 3 4:30pm, at Greenwich Town Hall. The event is the culmination of six civic leadership workshops, as candidates step forward to present their campaign platforms and compete to be elected the inaugural Ms President US of Greenwich and Stamford. The election is being run by Rye Country Day School sophomore Maya Chachra, the Ms President US Greenwich chapter founder and leader, and her fellow mentors.
The candidates, girls in grades 4-8, will present powerful platforms covering critical issues including climate change, financial literacy, hunger, social media, and more. Every member of the audience (aged 8 and above) will have the power to vote and determine the very first Ms President US of Greenwich and Stamford, marking an exciting new chapter in the program’s growing presence across Connecticut.
The six-month Ms President US program educates young girls in leadership, public speaking, and civic engagement. Throughout the program, participants learn from influential guest speakers and elected officials, develop their platforms, and gain confidence in their ability to lead.
“We are excited to bring a Ms President US election to Greenwich for the first time,” said Amanda Cordano, Executive Director. “This is a special moment for our program and for the young women of Greenwich and Stamford who are ready to step up, find their voices, and experience the electoral process firsthand. By encouraging civic participation at a young age, we are helping to build the future leaders of our communities and beyond.”
The event is free and open to the public, and the community is welcome to attend and support these inspiring young candidates. RSVP here https://forms.gle/mQtZTCumMxoSk6oK6
