Town of Greenwich ends snow emergency parking restrictions

First Selectman Fred Camillo is lifting the snow emergency restrictions on street parking within the Town of Greenwich effective at 2 p.m. on Jan. 26. 2026.

The restrictions have been in place since Sunday morning at 12:01 a.m. in order to allow Department of Public Works Highway Department crews to effectively clear and clean streets after the major snowfall as well as keep the streets clear for first responders in the case of an emergency.

People will once again be able to park in designated parking areas in Town after 2 p.m.

However, drivers should be aware that street parking in Greenwich is likely to remain affected by the heavy snowfall for the next few days. DPW crews will continue to work to remove snow that has been plowed from the streets and, for the next few days, there may be parking spots that are inaccessible due to the amount of snow that fell.

Please have patience and allow extra time to find a parking spot during the week ahead.

Additionally, First Selectman Camillo has, through the use of his emergency powers, allowed trucks for Greenwich’s waste disposal companies to begin work earlier than typically allowed under Town code. This is being done to give these companies more time to collect garbage in Town so that they can make the Transfer Station before it closes each day. The traffic volume and flow will be affected by the after-storm conditions and, combined with being on the road at the same time school buses and morning commuters, the haulers will need the extra time.

Town Hall will remain closed on Monday, Jan. 26, and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
