Last Saturday there was a nationwide celebrating of Wreaths Across America (WAA) honoring all veterans and active military members, with some gathered in the cemetery behind Christ Church Greenwich. Presiding was Daniella Ojjeh, Museum Director of the across-the-street Putnam Cottage.

WAA kicked off in 2007 to expand the wreath-laying ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery begun in 1992. “We celebrate the mission to remember the fallen, and honor those that serve and their families, and teach the next generation the value of freedom,” said Ojjeh. She then presented balsam wreaths to those young and older representing the Marines, the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, and the Coast Guard.
