Local piano educator Felicia Feng Zhang has been inducted into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame, joining the Class of 2025 in recognition of her outstanding impact on music education and the Greenwich community.
A longtime Greenwich resident and Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (MTNA NCTM), Zhang has devoted more than four decades to helping students discover their musical potential. She is the founder of All Talent Academy and the Piano Village Foundation, both established to inspire creativity, discipline, and confidence through music.
“Music is a universal language that brings people together. Piano is also one of the best educational tools to develop both sides of the brain and build lifelong skills through practice,” Zhang said. “My goal has always been to use an effective and efficient method to help every student—whether young or adult—find joy and freedom at the piano to gain extra ways to express self.”
Zhang’s teaching philosophy centers on her original 5Core/3EFM Method, which develops the Eyes, Ears, Mind, Fingers, and Feelings to make piano playing both natural and expressive. Her innovative system has helped countless students excel at the piano and apply the same skills toward academic and life success.
In recognition of her excellence in teaching, Zhang was named a Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher of Distinction in 2020. Her 5Core/3EFM Method has been adopted by the YMCA of Greenwich Piano Prodigy Program, where she also volunteers her time to teach and mentor teachers and young musicians.
In addition to her work with students, Zhang and her pupils frequently perform at senior centers and community events across Fairfield County, sharing music and joy with local audiences.
Her induction into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame honors not only her pedagogical achievements but also her enduring contributions to the cultural and educational life of Greenwich.
“Your passionate commitment to teaching and inspiring young people in their study of piano is commendable and rare. Through your efforts, you have helped students lay the foundation for a lifetime of musical and artistic expression,” said a Steinway & Sons spokesperson during the ceremony.

Felicia Feng Zhang is an award-winning educator, concert pianist, and the immediate past President of the Connecticut State Music Teachers Association. Her students consistently earn top honors in international competitions and Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.
