RMA Presents “The Story of Audubon in Greenwich”

The Greenwich Audubon Center, led by Rochelle Thomas, is urgently responding to dramatic bird population declines in North America by focusing on habitat restoration, climate action, policy, and community engagement. Recent projects include revitalizing local ecosystems like the Oneida Sanctuary and partnering with indigenous and conservation groups to create educational habitats supporting numerous bird species. The center also tackles leading threats such as outdoor cats and window collisions, while inviting the public to experience and support ongoing conservation efforts.

Helping Children Handle Stress

Feelings of stress and anxiety in children often stem from a feeling of lack of control. Children’s lives are mostly run by other people on their terms, which can make them feel helpless. As parents, we can help by giving children agency: giving them responsibilities and choices so that they feel more in control of their life on a daily basis, thus helping them gain confidence and alleviate feelings of helplessness.
