Greenwich High volleyball sweeps New Canaan

Greenwich High’s varsity girls volleyball team is enjoying an undefeated season.

Two more dominant victories kept Greenwich High School’s varsity girls volleyball team undefeated.

The Cardinals ran their record to a perfect 9-0 by soaring to sweeps of New Canaan High School and Bridgeport Central, recently.

Greenwich was victorious at New Canaan on Sept, 27, 3-0. The Cardinals won the match by set scores of 25-10, 25-9, 25-13. Kayah Armstrong registered 22 kills, eight digs and three aces to help power the Cardinals past the Rams.

Victoria Sullivan recorded 38 assists, four blocks, four kills and four aces, while Heidi Zieme tallied 12 kills, 10 digs and one ace in Greenwich’s road victory versus FCIAC foe New Canaan. Bailee Dayron (17 digs) and Klara Toczydlowska (eight kills) also paced GHS.

Against Bridgeport Central on Sept. 25, the Cardinals won the match by game scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-13. Zeeyah Jacobsen notched 10 assists, five aces and two kills, while Toczydlowska had eight digs and five kills in the winning effort.

Sammie Tommasino had seven digs and six blocks, Dayon added 22 digs, two aces and two assists and Karolina Zientek had 10 assist for Greenwich, which visits FCIAC opponent Staples Sept. 30th at 4 p.m.
