The Greenwich Police Department is actively investigating an incident involving inappropriate contact with a minor and is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect and associated vehicle.
On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 8:05 a.m., a middle school student was walking to school when they were approached from behind and grabbed by an unknown adult male. The incident occurred on the paved pathway of the Eastern Middle School tennis courts, which leads to the softball field near the intersection of Lockwood Road and Breezemont Avenue.
The suspect is described as a male of medium height, wearing a black hat, black sunglasses, a dark-colored top, and light-colored shorts.
The Special Victims Section of the Greenwich Police Department is leading the investigation and is seeking to identify the individual and vehicle depicted in surveillance footage connected to the case.
Authorities are asking residents and businesses in the area of Lockwood Road, between Riverside Avenue and Sound Beach Avenue, to review any surveillance or doorbell camera footage from the morning of September 11 that may assist with the investigation.
