As the former Chairman of the Greenwich Republican Town Committee (RTC), I understand the critical role that dedicated volunteers play in our local government. Serving in these positions is often a thankless task, yet we are fortunate to have many individuals with exceptional expertise who consistently step forward to serve. I commend everyone who volunteers their time and talents to improve our Town.
The upcoming Republican primary for the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) on Tuesday, September 9th, reflects the enthusiasm of multiple candidates eager to serve Greenwich. At our July RTC meeting, we nominated a balanced slate of candidates through our standard process, representing diverse voices within the party. This slate was a reasoned compromise, allocating seats equitably to strengthen both the Town and the Republican Party. However, some subsequently disagreed with the outcome, leading to the primary we now face.
This primary offers all Greenwich Republicans the opportunity to choose their BET nominees. Having personally engaged with all the candidates, I firmly believe the “Better Greenwich BET” slate — consisting of Sally Bednar, Josh Brown, Harry Fisher, Joe Kelly, Joe Pellegrino, and Leslie Tarkington —is the strongest choice to lead our Town forward. Their professional backgrounds and prior roles in local government demonstrate proven business acumen and a deep understanding of Greenwich’s opportunities and challenges. I am confident they will listen to all residents, make fiscally responsible decisions, and advance our Town with thoughtfulness and prudence.
I urge you to vote in the primary on September 9th. To learn more about the Better Greenwich BET slate and voting options, including early voting, absentee ballots, or in-person voting, visit their website at, https://www.bettergreenwichbet.com
Please join me in supporting Sally Bednar, Josh Brown, Harry Fisher, Joe Kelly, Joe Pellegrino, and Leslie Tarkington for a stronger, more prosperous Greenwich.
