Christ Church Greenwich welcomes presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham for an in-person event on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. Meacham will speak on the timely and thought-provoking topic: “The Soul of America: God, History, and the Way We Live Now.”
Known for his deep insight into American history, politics, and faith, Meacham brings a powerful perspective shaped by decades of scholarship and public service. His appearance promises an evening of compelling reflection and meaningful conversation, touching on how our past continues to shape our present.
Meacham has served on the vestries of St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue and Trinity Church Wall Street. He is currently a visiting professor at Vanderbilt University and contributes regularly to The New York Times Book Review and Time magazine. His leadership roles have spanned media and academia, including positions at Random House, Newsweek, and several national institutions such as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation.
Meacham is the author of numerous bestsellers, including American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House, Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power, American Gospel, and most recently, His Truth Is Marching On: John Lewis and the Power of Hope.
