Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones today announced the appointment of Mrs. Tiffany Johnson as assistant principal of North Street School, effective August 8. She replaces Ms. Jessica McEvily, who had been named the district’s coordinator of student wellness and support earlier this summer.

“Mrs. Tiffany Johnson possesses the extensive experience and expertise in instruction that will complement the amazing work happening at North Street School,” Dr. Jones said. “Her strong Multi-Tiered System of Supports credentials and administrative involvement will be a great asset to Greenwich Public Schools.”

Mrs. Johnson comes to GPS from Brookfield Public Schools, where she had served as a math interventionist and MTSS coordinator at Candlewood Lake Elementary School since 2022. Mrs. Johnson, who is Orton-Gillingham math certified, developed Brookfield’s first remedial math program for grades K-5 and also collaborated on a systemic, continuous-improvement framework in which data-based problem solving and decision-making is practiced across all levels of the educational system for supporting students. For the previous 10 years, Mrs. Johnson was a first grade teacher at Jane Ryan Elementary School in Trumbull, a kindergarten teacher at Wolfpit Elementary in Norwalk, and a third grade teacher at Huckleberry Hill Elementary in Brookfield.

“Mrs. Tiffany Johnson is a dynamic and energized leader who brings a strong track record of utilizing data to drive meaningful instruction, fostering growth for all students,” Principal Jill Flood said. “She has distinguished herself as a change agent, leading instructional initiatives and professional learning rooted in best practices and current, research-based pedagogy.”

“As assistant principal at North Street School, my goal will be to help maintain the learning environment rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging, where all students and staff feel valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential,” Mrs. Johnson said. “I was drawn to Greenwich Public Schools because of its commitment to academic rigor, social‑emotional learning, and the strong partnerships among families, staff, and the broader community that make meaningful, lifelong learning possible.”

Mrs. Johnson holds a bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s in Teacher Leadership from Quinnipiac University. She also earned certifications in Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092) from Sacred Heart University and K-6 Elementary Education (013) from Western Connecticut State.
