Letter: Supporting Blood Drives Just Got Competitive!

On July 31, our community has an opportunity to do something simple and profoundly important: give blood. The American Red Cross will host the Greenwich Battle of the Clubs blood drive at Greenwich Town Hall, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., bringing together local clubs in friendly competition for a lifesaving cause.

This year’s participating clubs — Belle Haven Club, Burning Tree Country Club, Indian Harbor Yacht Club, Innis Arden Golf Club, Milbrook Club, Riverside Yacht Club, Round Hill Club, Tamarack Country Club, and Greenwich Country Club — are rallying their members and friends to help meet a critical summer need. Blood donations often decline during the summer months, yet the demand in hospitals remains constant.

One donation can save up to three lives. That means every appointment at this drive has the potential to help a neighbor, a friend, or even someone we may never meet. It is an act of generosity that strengthens the very fabric of our town.

Appointments can be scheduled by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering the sponsor code GreenwichClubs or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS. Walk-ins will also be welcomed as space allows.

Please join us. Whether you are part of one of these clubs or simply part of this community, your donation will help “keep the supply afloat” for patients who need it most.
