The Bruce Museum announces that children under the age of 18 will receive free admission on weekends during the summer of 2025, thanks to an anonymous donor. The “Summer Weekends 2025 Kids are Free at the Bruce” program will begin on Saturday, July 5 and run through Sunday, August 31. During this time, up to four children per accompanying adult can enjoy weekends at the Bruce without paying the $15 admission fee. To participate in the “Summer Weekends 2025 Kids are Free at the Bruce” program, visitors must purchase their tickets from the Visitor Services team at the main entrance.
As an added benefit, on most of these summer weekends families can engage in a drop-in art or science activity in the Cohen Education Wing from 1-3pm. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a summer sustainability-themed Family Day on Saturday July 19. These activities are all included during the “Summer Weekends 2025 Kids are Free at the Bruce” time period.
“Summer Weekends 2025 Kids are Free at the Bruce” is made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor who wished to make engagement with art and science accessible for all families and support the Bruce’s mission of cultivating discovery and wonder and engaging a broad audience through the power of art and science.
During the summer of 2025 the Bruce has two exciting exhibitions on view that families can experience through the “Summer Weekends 2025” program. Now on view in the changing art gallery is Jeremy Frey: Woven, the first major retrospective of one of the most accomplished indigenous artists working today. Frey’s intricate, painstakingly layered pieces elevate traditional basketweaving to a new form of sculptural art that is not to be missed. In the changing science gallery, visitors can travel to the great American northwest in On Thin Ice: Alaska’s Warming Wilderness, where they will confront a giant polar bear and learn how global warming is impacting Alaska’s vast landscape.
