Greenwich Community Invited to “Phone Down, Enjoy the Town” Initiative

OK to Delay Greenwich announces the launch of its first annual “Phone Down, Enjoy the Town” initiative, running from Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4. The campaign encourages community members to embrace authentic connection by switching off their phones during meals at participating local restaurants.

This week-long awareness challenge aims to foster mindfulness, meaningful conversation, and deeper engagement among friends, families, and neighbors. Participating restaurants throughout Greenwich have partnered with OK to Delay to support the mission of reconnecting people face-to-face, promoting healthier relationships, and enjoying the Town of Greenwich to the fullest.

Participating restaurants include:

Little Pub

Cups N Cones

Grigg Street Pizza

The Country Table

Constantino’s Pasta Bowls

CFCF

Raphael’s Bakery

Terra

Mediterraneo

East End

“Whether you’re a parent looking to model healthy habits, a teenager needing a break from screen time, or a young adult seeking genuine social interaction, this initiative offers everyone the perfect opportunity,” said Jessica Hirsch, co-executive director of OK to Delay Greenwich.

Participation is voluntary, but the benefits are universal—greater presence, enjoyment, and appreciation for both the meal and company.

OK to Delay is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting families in delaying smartphone and social media use among children and teens, promoting balanced, healthy tech habits.
