To the Editor,
Politicians often seem more concerned with scoring points than solving problems. Ryan Fazio stands as a refreshing exception. He is a legislator who recognizes that laws are not just words on a page but tools that must work effectively in the real world. Ryan understands that good governance requires a careful balance of principle and pragmatism – a balance that he has consistently demonstrated in his work for our district.
Take, for instance, Ryan’s approach to the issue of fiscal responsibility. In 2017, Connecticut’s budgetary process was teetering on the edge of chaos. Yet, out of that disarray, a bi-partisan group helped secure the adoption of fiscal guardrails that have since prevented our state from careening into deep financial ruin. Ryan is fully committed to keeping these guardrails in place and working in spite of Hartford’s efforts to break them. These guardrails are not mere abstractions; they are practical measures that have allowed Connecticut to achieve the first income tax reduction in years, a direct benefit to families in Connecticut.
But Ryan’s legislative acumen extends beyond fiscal matters. He has also been a champion of local control, fighting to return zoning decisions to municipalities. He understands that the people of Greenwich, not state bureaucrats, are best equipped to make decisions about our tow n’s development.
Moreover, Ryan’s bipartisan efforts have resulted in meaningful legislation that addresses real issues, such as strengthening gun background checks to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals while protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens. His work is proof that effective governance is not about partisanship but about finding solutions that work.
As we approach the election, it’s clear that Ryan Fazio is the right choice for Greenwich. He is a legislator who doesn’t just talk about solving problems – he actually solves them. Let’s keep him working for us in Hartford. Please join me in voting for Ryan Fazio as our Connecticut State Senator.
