October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and it is an issue that impacts individuals, their families, friends and the community at large. In Connecticut, 37% of women and 33% of men experience intimate partner violence during their lifetimes; 26% of Connecticut students surveyed reported someone they were going out with tried to control or hut them. Early detection and heightened attention can lead to better outcomes in creating Healthy Communities.
