Greenwich American Legion Post #29 will hold its Annual Barbecue Fundraiser on Saturday, September 21, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm., at the Tomes-Higgins House, located at Christ Church Greenwich. The event will feature live music by the band “That’s What She Said,” performing classic rock hits from the 1960s through the 1980s.
The barbecue menu will include grilled chicken, green salad, burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, pickles, cookies, ice cream, as well as beer, wine, and soft drinks. Tickets are available for $40 for adults, $25 for veterans, and $20 for children aged 5 and older. As with the pancake breakfast, proceeds from the event will be used to support youth programs in the Greenwich area.
“The barbecue is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year,” said the organizer. “Not only does it offer a fun afternoon with great food and music, but it also helps us raise much-needed funds to continue providing important programs for our youth.”
Organizers encourage residents to purchase tickets in advance or to consider making a tax-deductible donation if they are unable to attend. Donations can be mailed to Greenwich American Legion Post #29, 248 Glenville Road, Greenwich, CT 06831. For further details or to RSVP, residents can contact Post #29 at (203) 531-0109 or (646) 236-7657.
Both events are part of the Post’s continued effort to strengthen ties with the community while honoring the service of local veterans and ensuring that funds raised support local initiatives for children and young adults.
