In a world where everything seems to come at a price, your willingness to honor the lives of our community members without imposing a financial burden on grieving families is a true act of generosity. It speaks volumes about your dedication to this town and its people.
In particular, I was deeply moved by your decision last week to devote four full pages to ensure that all the obituaries were published. I understand that this came at the cost of other news and features, and I, for one, appreciate the importance you placed on remembering those who have passed. It is gestures like these that make the Sentinel not just a newspaper but a vital part of our community.
I hope that those who benefit from these free obituaries will consider contributing to the foundation that makes it possible. Supporting this effort ensures that these tributes will remain available to all, and I encourage readers to help sustain this important service.
