YWCA Greenwich, in collaboration with Greenwich Historical Society and UJA-JCC Greenwich will screen the critically acclaimed film Marshall starring Chadwick Boseman as part of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s ‘In Conversation’ Series on Sunday, September 8 at 1 PM.
Marshall tells the powerful story of Justice Thurgood Marshall’s early career and his pivotal role in the State of Connecticut v. Joseph Spell case. Through this film, we aim to encourage solidarity, underscore the prevalence of anti-blackness and antisemitism, and celebrate the enduring legacy of Justice Marshall.
Following the film will be a dynamic panel discussion with Professor Marilyn Ford, Professor of Law at Quinnipiac University; Preston Tisdale ESQ, Attorney at Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder PC; and Dr. Philip Eliasoph, Professor of Art History & Visual Culture and Director of the Open Visions Forum at Fairfield University. The discussion will be moderated by Simone Quartey, Director of the Center for Equity & Justice at YWCA Greenwich.
