Step back in time in Greenwich Historical Society’s Frank Family Foundation Special Exhibitions Gallery this summer at the newly installed Time Travelers KidStudio.
Kids up to age 12 with an accompanying adult will enjoy this imaginative, walk-in interactive and educational studio space to make crafts and learn more about local history Wednesday through Sunday from 12-4pm though August 31. Each week presents a new thematic focus, with special docent-guided activities on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Activities include oil pastel still lifes, decorating paper lanterns, and map and card making inspired by historic examples in the archives.
Children will enjoy a cozy reading corner with bean bag chairs, a community coloring wall mural, coloring pages, bookmark making and interactive games, all in a fun informal setting.
“We are so excited to open the gallery to young (and young-at-heart) artists this summer,” says Kelsie Dalton, Historical Society Manager of Collections and Interpretation. “Museums are for everyone, and the KidStudio will give our community the opportunity to create art, hang it on the gallery wall, and learn something new along the way.”
Greenwich Historical Society Time Travelers KidStudio is open during regular museum hours Wednesday through Sunday from 12 – 4 pm until August 31.
