Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich believes in promoting community service among young people, while bringing joy to homebound neighbors with smiling faces. We are proud to have collaborated over this past academic year with Greenwich Country Day School’s Center for Public Good. The Center (1) nourishes the desire to make the world a better place, (2) allows students to learn about society’s needs, and (3) inspires students to take action.
Student volunteers have many incredible skills:
* Teamwork – ability to work with others and adapt to different people and surroundings
* Communication – capacity to clearly speak with others to effectively and efficiently convey ideas
* Flexibility – adeptness to do whatever is needed even if the task is not ideal
* Passion – having enthusiasm about doing something for others
* Patience – talent to wait or continue to do something despite difficulties without complaint or annoyance
Meals-on-Wheels plans to continue to nurture these skills in student volunteers to make for a stronger community.
