The Town of Greenwich decided to postpone the fireworks shows that had been scheduled for Saturday, July 6 in Old Greenwich until Sunday, July 7, due to potential thunderstorms.
The decision was reached after the Office of the First Selectman held a joint meeting with the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Greenwich Police and Fire Departments and Emergency Management Director Joe Laucella.
The time and location of the fireworks shows will remain the same and the public is invited to either Binney Park or Greenwich Point in Old Greenwich. The Binney Park show will start at approximately 9:10 p.m. and the Greenwich Point Show will begin at approximately at 9:35 p.m.
Please arrive early for the shows as Greenwich Point will be closed when the maximum number of cars for the available parking spaces has been reached. People should also be aware that Greenwich Point will be closed to vehicular traffic at 8:30 p.m. even if the parking capacity has not been reached.
