Community invited to a ‘Horseshoe Crab Celebration’

Attendees gather around a horseshoe crab and learn how to tag them.

The Friends of Greenwich Point and the Greenwich Conservation Commission present “Horseshoe Crab Celebration”, on Thursday, June 20, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, at the Old Greenwich Yacht Club. This will be a guided beach walk to count and tag Horseshoe Crabs.

Members of the Conservation Commission will explain how the number of horseshoe crabs along the shore are counted during several high tides in June. Some horseshoe crabs are tagged for further monitoring.

This event is free and all are welcome.

Parking: Marina Parking, Boat Launch and Kayak Racks (#14 on map below).

What to wear: Clothes that you can get wet. Rainboots and waders are recommended.
